    This immersive 3-hour course covers chicken harvesting from start to finish, providing you with the essential knowledge, effective techniques, and the confidence you need to do it yourself.

    We aim to give participants the knowledge and skills to handle the process on their own. We will provide clear teaching and practical experience, plus a fresh chicken to take home and enjoy.


Workshop Details

  • Days: One Saturday a month

  • Location: On farm at Charley’s Chicks

  • Time Slots: 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM

  • Instructor: Charley Harrold

  • Duration: 3 hours

  • Cost: $100 per person

    (includes one chicken to take home per person)

What’s Included:

  • All necessary equipment provided: processing equipment, knives, gloves, aprons, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant.

  • Hands-on experience rotating through key harvesting stations:

    • Kill Station

    • Scalding Station

    • Plucking Station

    • Evisceration Table

    • Quality Control

Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in each step of the chicken processing workflow.
